I have already discussed about wix.com, an online web designing tool that allows you to create amazing webpages in minutes. Look at this post here. Now,wix is a drag and drop based web designing tool built completely on flash. So you web pages are visible only on flash enabled browsers.


            Not most smart phone support flash completely, so you're missing out on a huge chunk of traffic ready to enter your site. So what difference does HTML5 make to a say a person who has just started to create 7 maintain his website. Well , there are a whole lot of differences.HTML5 is the fifth revision of the Hyper Text Markup Language.

1. It doesn't require flash player, so a +1 for that.

2. It makes the entire webpage very light weight, meaning your web pages load faster than a conventional flash website.

In every dual-core phone, there’s a PC trying to get out.

Does this sound unfamiliar. It did to me and on investigating (googling up) found that there is a new feature from my favorite Open Source Community-'UBUNTU' that transforms your high end smart phone into a full fledged desktop. Wow! now imagine the possibilities, I am working on some project, need to head home for the day and all I need to do is unplug the phone from the docking station and its done.Everything but the monitor (duh!) can now be taken home along with me. I still remember those days when moving a desktop from on room to another took a huge chunk of time from my precious weekend .  

So,note to self- "Don't be a foolish geek and buy a desktop,be a gadget freak and pocket a smart phone"

Prezi, The latest Powerpoint Software

Are you bored of the same old slideshows and presentations. Since my fifth grade I have been looking 
at the same kind of presentations and just got sick of them now. It wasn't until my tenth grade that I started exploring the other possibilities of MS Powerpoint .



 After years of tweaking and twisting with the great features of MS PPT I had reached my breaking point and wanted something new. And out of nowhere, when everything seemed to be going in the same old MS PPT way, a friend of mine told me about Prezi. And boy I was impresssed. It was a zooming transition based presentation with an amazing  aura of innovation . 


Any simple presentation would appear amazing even if your words don't seem to do the trick. It's is available on the Google Chrome store (for all those avid Chrome users ) and can also be availed online via the  link below. Creating presentations with Prezi is simple and easy with a very steep learning curve. But, the only drawback is that it offers playing your presentation online . The desktop standalone version is only available for premium users which, obviously, is at a price.

Good :

• It's Free so a +1 for that.
• It is new and creative.
• Very simple to use.
• Animations are smooth and without any freezes.
• It's a cloud based service with a decent online storage space.

Bad:

• Needs internet to view presentations.
• Standalone version is available at a price (You can try it for 30 day or so).

Ugly:

• None to say.

Wix.com:Creating Stunning Flash Websites Simplified

No need to learn html, css, php.....or others words that you haven't even heard of. All you need is an artistic bent of mind to create stunning websites as Wix.com takes care of the rest. Wix is a simple to use website offering web enthusiasts to create amazing and professional websites through a simple drag and drop interface.

The websites are located on a sub domain of the wix website for free users (wix.com/username/site.title).But if you want a separate domain name(yoursite.com, .in, .org..etc),you have the option of purchasing that too for a fee.

A lot of people have an extreme craving for music. Some go to the extent of making it a profession. But not all have a chance to do so. For all those who haven't got enough time, here's a wonderful software to compose professional music in minutes, 

MAGIX MUSIC MAKER. No experience required in notes or beats or any other alien terms. All you need to have is a good taste for music. MAGIX is a wonderful tool capable of creating professional music without much learning required. Yet, those who want to get serious with composing after a while (which I am sure most of you will ), the software offers piano roll to edit notes and allows to add a whole lot of plugins. I downloaded this back in 2009 and found it to be an amazing piece of software to work with not much of learning required. It is as simple as dragging and dropping and can get as complex as that required by a professional composer.
